Holdem manager 2
Holdem Manager has been one of the most popular and popular tracking tools for years. Now the Holdem Manager 2 (HM2) has been greatly expanded and improved compared to the previous version. Many new features have been added and the structure of the database improved. With this Holdem Manager 2 Review I would like to introduce you to the new analysis options and the numerous improvements.
Holdem Manager 2 database
The core of the HM2 is as with all tracking tools the PostgreSQL database dar. This is like all other competing products not included in the software, but is available on postgresql.org for free download and free use. The installation and setup of this database is easier than you think, in case of problems or ambiguities you can find help on the Holdem Manager website video tutorials. Since the database accesses, especially for large databases and many simultaneously played tables, can be very compute-intensive, the structure of the database has been further improved in the new version. A database of the previous version can therefore no longer be used, but can easily be imported via the Database Manager.
New is the HM Sync option. Since you can use your Holdem Manager 2 on two computers with a license key (eg PC and laptop) and it makes little sense to use two different databases, you can now use the simple synchronization via the “HM Sync Cloud Database”. This data is not shared with other users, only you have access to it. In the Database Manager you can additionally optimize the database itself as well as PostgreSQL. The latter option scans your hardware and adjusts the configuration to it. Despite all these performance improvements, you should not expect any miracles in the speed increase. Database access and the HUD are simply compute-intensive. Main memory, CPU and hard disk speed are the most important cornerstones.
The new HM2 HUD
The Heads Up Display has also been heavily revised. The number of tracked statistics has been doubled, leaving more than 500 different values available for your HUD. Both the HUD and the associated pop-up have been made clearer and are of course freely configurable at will or need. The HUD Control Panel displays all changes made immediately, so that optimizations can now be implemented much faster. Also new are the “versus hero” stats. With these you can see how this opponent played exclusively against you. Very useful if you often sit at the table with a player who also knows you and therefore plays something different against you.

Holdem Manager Reports
The possibilities of the reports are numerous. You can sort your hands by sessions, time periods, stakes, stacks or positions, and more. Interesting is also the complete Betting Line and the Preflop Action, which simplify the analysis considerably without having to try for the details of the Hand Replayer. Of course, the Hand Replayer is still important to accurately analyze a played hand. Here you can understand not only the course of the hand, but also all sizes. Also new in the reports is the display of the All-In EV. Probably all users of the previous version will know the EV graph, which should be known to move significantly in the plus. Now you see in the reports for each single all-in-hand at a glance your EV, green for a positive, red for a negative value. For example, sort your report for negative all-in EVs and you’ll find plenty of hands to worry about.
